After Hurricane Sandy The City of Long Beach, NY was left not only physically but mentally devastated by the storm. The next summer the city launched a campaign to market Long Beach to the surrounding towns and NYC that Long Beach was back open for business and only a train ride away. I was honored Face Piece won the bid for creation of the website portion of the campaign which was lead by Creative Vibe Advertising.
During the discovery phase we first identified and prioritized the goals of the site, along with it's target markets. From here we ideated and designed the ideal user experience keeping the priorities in-line. With commuters being at the top of our target market we felt it was important to create a one stop shop to answer all the questions one might have. Highlight the proximity to the city, activities around town, custom weather forecast, and easily accessible train times to and from NYC can all be found without leaving the homepage.
The site also highlights all the local business, parks, boardwalk concession, and out door activities that LB has to offer. The site has grown to add accommodations around town and job listings. With a turn around time for design and development stages not ideal, I am happy to say the team delivered with time to spear for QA before we shipped the product!
